Apple has released iOS 27.0.1 two weeks after the release of iOS 27, alongside new versions for watchOS and macOS. An update that fixes some very specific bugs and fine-tunes the systems for the new hardware.
Face ID and the iPhone 18 Pro camera
iOS 27.0.1 focuses on the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. According to MacRumors, Apple fixes Face ID-related restarts, a small color artifact that could appear in 2x photos, and an odd freeze when opening the Notification Center and Control Center simultaneously.
The update arrives after the long list of new features in iOS 27 and features like the iPhone recovery system and focuses on the new devices, although it is available for all devices running iOS 27.
watchOS and macOS also receive updates
watchOS 27.0.1, which has been available since September 24, is now available on all models compatible with watchOS 27, that is, the Series 9 and later. After initially rolling out to the Series 12 and the Ultra 4, the update brings those tweaks to the rest of the lineup and focuses on stability.
On the Mac, macOS Golden Gate 27.0.1 arrives alongside macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.1. The versions fine-tune performance and security. Tahoe, Sequoia, iOS 26.7.1 and iPadOS 26.7.1 also fix CVE-2026-86950, a CoreGraphics vulnerability associated with files that can execute code.
All in all, an especially important round of updates for security and the smooth operation of your devices. While we wait for the release of iOS 27.1 for the iPhone Duo and of the 27.2 versions for the rest of the systems, it’s best to update as soon as possible.
