Taika Waititi has become an undisputed star in Hollywood, and he has achieved it through projects that he has obtained thanks, above all, to a film he released in 2014: What We Do in the Shadows. In it, the director told the story of what the life of vampires would be like in present-day United States, always through his particular comedic perspective.
This movie opened the door to a homonymous series that came afterwards, which conquered an even larger audience than the movie and led to Waititi and everyone involved in the subsequent fiction becoming even bigger. However, What We Do in the Shadows will end after its sixth season, as announced by FX.
Goodbye to vampires, hello to wolves?
The series available on HBO Max will finally conclude after a sixth set of episodes that will attempt to close all possible storylines. This has been announced by Vulture, thus giving the first news of the series after the end of its fifth season last August.
Undoubtedly, What We Do in the Shadows has been properly judged. The series has received a whopping 21 nominations for the Emmy Awards, and has been a public success since the first episodes. But hey, not all is lost. Taika Waititi and co-creator Jemaine Atea Mahana Clement are already thinking about We’re Wolves, a sequel movie focused on the Werewolves we see in the series. We’ll see what happens, although it’s clear that their vision on the matter is more than interesting.

While we mourn the series that will end at some point in 2024, as planned, we can continue to catch up on all the episodes from the previous five seasons on the HBO Max streaming platform.
