ByteDance has taken the wraps off Seedance 2.5, a new AI video model that, the company says, can generate 30-second videos from a single prompt without stitching together a series of shorter clips. Speaking at Volcano Engine’s FORCE conference, ByteDance said Seedance 2.5 is slated to launch in early July after entering global enterprise beta.
The company introduced Seedance 2.5 at the same FORCE event alongside four other models. ByteDance is pitching it as the first tool in this category to move past the roughly 15-second ceiling that, by its account, is still the norm.
ByteDance says Seedance 2.5 also brings native 4K output, support for as many as 50 image, video, and audio references, and localized editing. That means you can swap products, backgrounds, or other elements without regenerating the whole scene.
For anyone working in marketing, storytelling, e-commerce, advertising, or branded content, this is worth keeping an eye on. Longer clips, smoother motion could make commercial production a lot easier.
There’s also a larger point here if you’ve been tracking ByteDance’s AI push. Seedance 2.5 arrived alongside the Doubao 2.1 Pro language model, and it lines up with CEO Liang Rubo’s emphasis on model development, as well as the company’s wider push into enterprise services, cloud tools, and Model-as-a-Service.
That puts ByteDance more squarely against competitors like Google’s Veo and Kuaishou’s Kling. At the same time, the bigger questions around copyright and likeness rights still haven’t been settled.
Seedance 2.5 will be available through ByteDance’s global enterprise beta ahead of its early July release.
