How to use collaborative playlists in the Music app

Collaborative playlists in the Music app arrive in the .2 version of iOS 17, so the first step will be to ensure that both ourselves and the people we want to share the playlists with are running this version of the operating system. Then, the steps to follow are as follows:

  1. Open the Music app on our iPhone or iPad.
  2. Go to the Library tab.
  3. Tap on Playlists.
  4. Enter the playlist that interests us.
  5. Tap the button shaped like three dots in the upper right corner.
  6. Tap on Collaborate.
  7. If desired, activate the option to approve collaborators.
  8. Tap on Start collaboration.
  9. Invite whoever we want.

Let’s note that, upon finishing, we can tap the same Collaborate button again to configure collaboration options and view/manage who has joined our list.

With collaborative playlists, anyone we share the link with can edit and rearrange songs, as well as change the name and the playlist’s photo. This opens up a world of possibilities to create more dynamic and personalized playlists as a group, whether it’s for a party, a special event, a road trip, or just to share musical tastes.
