Two of Quentin Tarantino’s biggest westerns have turned up on Prime Video. Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight are both now available to stream there, according to Prime Video listings.
Django Unchained is available on Prime Video through the Howdy add-on, and it’s also on MovieSphere by Lionsgate, according to Prime Video listings. The Hateful Eight has appeared in multiple regions on Prime Video, and the platform listing puts it at 167 minutes. That means you’re getting the theatrical cut, not the longer roadshow version or the 2019 Netflix Extended Version, which split the film into four parts and added about 20 minutes, according to Netflix.
Django Unchained is still one of Tarantino’s most rewatched movies. With Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Walton Goggins, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kerry Washington in the cast, it also remains one of the clearest examples of Tarantino’s blend of genre homage, razor-sharp dialogue, and violence.
The Hateful Eight is set in post-Civil War Wyoming, where eight strangers are stuck together during a blizzard, and it stars Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. It made about $156 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo, earned three Oscar nominations, according to the Academy Awards, won Ennio Morricone his only competitive Oscar, according to the Academy Awards, and sits at 74% on Rotten Tomatoes, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
