Recently, Blizzard announced to the world the arrival of Cowboy Bebop to Overwatch 2. Players will be able to enjoy this highly anticipated collaboration starting next Tuesday, March 12th. In addition, Overwatch 2’s art director, Dion Rogers, has provided details on what this event will bring us.
Rogers met with the media ComicBook to talk in depth about the most interesting aspects of this collaboration. As expected, the characters from Overwatch 2 will receive new skins inspired by the protagonists of the manga. The characters that will have these new appearances are McCree (Spike), Ashe (Faye), Sombra (Ed), Mauga (Jet), and Hammond (Ein).
The director explained to ComicBook that Cowboy Bebop served as “inspiration to many of our artists during their studies and artistic learning”. He has also stated that the collaboration has been “brewing for quite some time” and that they have worked closely with the Sunrise team to ensure that “everything was ready”.
Just like it happened with the collaboration of One Punch Man, all players will be able to obtain one of these skins completely for free. In this case, it is the Hammond skin, which can be obtained by completing a series of challenges within Overwatch 2.
In addition to new skins, we will also have emotes inspired by Cowboy Bebop and, of course, its music. Below, we leave you the trailer.
