Although it was initially speculated that the remake would be a movie, it has been confirmed that it will be a series, which will allow Fincher to explore in greater depth the complexity of the characters and the dystopian world that characterizes Squid Game.

Darker but less bloody than the original
According to the rumors that have been arriving, Dennis Kelly, screenwriter of the series Utopia and Matilda: The Musical, would be in charge of the script, while Fincher will serve as producer and director of some episodes. It seems that Netflix aims with this adaptation to attract a new audience while maintaining the spirit of the original series, but with a “darker and less explicitly bloody” approach. At the moment, we know little more, but we could expect anything.
