Do you own one of these Xiaomi phones? They will lose official support in April

Xiaomi continues rolling out the latest HyperOS updates across its smartphone lineup, but not all news is good. As new devices take the spotlight, several older models are being left behind, marking the end of their update cycle. This means no more Android versions, no HyperOS enhancements, and no future security patches—raising concerns about both usability and data protection.

These Xiaomi and Redmi models will no longer receive updates

As of April 2025, seven Xiaomi phones will officially lose all software support, according to the company’s announcement. The affected models include several bestsellers, like the popular Redmi Note 11S, which enjoyed wide success after launch. Here’s the complete list:

  • POCO F4 GT
  • Xiaomi 11i
  • Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge
  • Redmi K50 Gaming Edition
  • Redmi Note 11S
  • Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G
  • Redmi Note 10A

From this point on, users of these phones will no longer receive HyperOS or Android updates, nor any future security patches. While this doesn’t make the phones immediately unsafe, over time they will become more vulnerable, and users may find that their favorite apps stop working correctly.

This move isn’t exclusive to Xiaomi—all manufacturers eventually phase out older models—but with Xiaomi’s fast-paced release schedule across the Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO lines, the change can feel abrupt. The company is known for offering long support windows even for lower-end models, but every device reaches its end eventually.

If your device is on the list, it might be time to start looking at current-gen alternatives, especially if you rely heavily on app compatibility and up-to-date security.
