In effect, touching the picture blocks your WhatsApp and you will have to restart the app. What happens? Is it a virus that infects your mobile forever and ever? Does it summon Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet to eradicate life on Earth? Not exactly.
The image in question hides thousands of characters (visible if you convert the image to .txt format).
There are so many characters that WhatsApp can’t process them all, which causes the app to shut down. If you fall into this trap don’t worry, all you’ll have to do is restart the app.
The best way to avoid falling into this trap is to not press the button or delete the image directly.
