EA Sports College Football 27 is out today on PC, launching the same day as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. So yes, this is a real day-one release on every platform, and the PC version comes with a deeper graphics menu than you might expect.
On PC, you can set separate quality levels for gameplay and cutscenes. That’s useful if you want the on-field action to stay smooth while letting replays and presentation scenes look a little better. You can also tweak window mode, resolution, refresh rate, frame-rate caps, ray-traced lighting, texture quality, shadow quality, crowd detail, sideline detail, and 3D grass.
EA says you’ll need Windows 11, an Intel Core i3-10300 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 12GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, or Intel Arc A580 for 1080p at 60 FPS on Low. For 1440p at 60 FPS on High, the recommendation moves up to an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 16GB of RAM, and an RTX 3060 Ti, RX 6700 XT, or Arc B580. You’ll need 50GB of storage either way, and an SSD is recommended.
If you play sports games on PC, this one looks worth picking up. Early player impressions suggest EA Sports College Football 27 runs smoothly and feels well optimized, even with the usual launch bugs and crashes already being reported. More importantly, it sounds like a full PC release with the features you’d want, not some bare-bones port.
