Elon Musk looks like one of those people who watches ‘Barbie‘ and complains that he’s not like Ken. And yet, he looks exactly like what Greta Gerwig’s movie parodies. And the proof is in the pudding, because the SpaceX founder’s biographer has spoken to his ex-wife, Grimes, about his love life. The result is as creepy as you can imagine.
I love you and I want musk
Walter Isaacson is preparing a biography about Elon and has posted on Twitter a teaser about what their first two dates were like, which surprisingly led to the consummation and, eventually, the birth of X Æ A-XII and Exa Dark Sideræl. No, they are not two asteroids, but his daughters, who in 2040 will change their names to “Mary” or “Susan” for a quieter life.
The first time they met, Musk and Grimes walked around the Tesla factory as the mogul tried to impress her in two ways: first, by trying to fix problems here and there. A loose screw, a piece of paper needing his signature, that sort of thing. Second, doing a quick ‘Lord of the Rings‘ quiz. You know those guys who say “You’re not that big a Rolling Stones fan, tell me three songs”? That’s one of them.

“That I passed the ‘Lord of the Rings’ test was important to me,” Elon Musk tells his official biographer, not having much idea of what should and shouldn’t be said to anyone who tries to paint you a more or less true-to-life portrait. By the way, at the end of the quote, Grimes gave him a box of animal bones he had found. Now tell me these aren’t two people created by artificial intelligence doing what they think should be done in case love comes knocking at your door.
The second date, by the way, was even worse: Musk put the girl in his Tesla, blindfolded himself and let the car drive itself. “I thought, fuck, this guy is crazy. The car was changing lanes by itself. It felt like a scene from a Marvel movie.” The flowers and champagne thing, apparently, was too little having self-driving cars, animal bones and Tolkien tests. Too bad they broke up, eh. What a drama.
