Netflix has officially confirmed that season 3 of its live-action One Piece series is in the works, following the success of the second season. Although a specific release date has not yet been announced, it is speculated that it could premiere in early 2028, as long as production progresses smoothly. Filming began in November 2025, suggesting that there won’t be a long wait as there was between seasons 1 and 2.
A third season just confirmed
The new season will focus on the Alabasta Arc, covering manga chapters from 155 to 217. This storyline will include the civil conflict in the Kingdom of Alabasta and the confrontation with the villain Mr. Crocodile, leader of Baroque Works. The story is expected to reveal Crocodile’s true motives and present key moments between the characters, including the participation of Portgas D. Ace, who will be played by Xolo Maridueña in this adaptation.
The cast will also be expanded with the addition of Cole Escola as Bon Clay, and more characters are expected to be announced as production progresses. Season 3 could consist of eight episodes, covering only the Alabasta Arc, although there is also the possibility of including the Jaya Arc, which would serve as an exciting season finale and bridge to the next saga, the Sky Island Saga.
As for the first trailer of this new installment, it is expected to be revealed at the end of 2027, if the release projections are met. The series has been positively received by critics, especially in comparison to the first season, showing improvements in its production and fidelity to the original material, making it one of the most acclaimed adaptations in the genre.
