Cracking the FaceTime Code: Finally, a Way to Get a Response

Now, with iOS 17, if someone doesn’t answer our FaceTime call we have other resources.

While the most common when someone does not answer a phone call is to leave a message in voicemail, until now this was not an option if we called by FaceTime or FaceTime audio. With iOS 17, the picture changes, because now we can leave a message, both audio and video, for the other person.

A voicemail, but for video and FaceTime

Instead of having to go to the Messages app to leave a message, written or voice, now it is the same Face Time app that offers the option to leave a short video message. Undoubtedly a more comfortable communication and also more expressive to deliver the message that originated the call.

Leaving a video or audio message to an unanswered FaceTime is extremely simple. Once our recipient does not answer the call, the interface offers us Call back, Close or Record a video. After touching this last option, we can record a video and, very important, review it before sending it to be able to check that it has been as we want.

Once sent, the recipient will receive a notification about the video message and will find it in the missed call log within the FaceTime app. From there, they will have the option to return the call directly or save the video in the Photos app to keep it.

This function comes, in fact, together with the one that allows us to see the real-time transcription of a message left on the voicemail -even if it does not arrive in Spanish on the day of the launch-. All in all, a fine-tuning of the way we communicate and which shows that, although sometimes our interlocutor does not answer the call in question, we have more resources. Resources, in the case of iOS 17 and FaceTime, as direct as being able to leave a video message at the touch of a button.
