Not everyone was sure that Fallout would be a success. With the precedent we had of video game adaptations, it was clear that it was a very difficult bet by Amazon Prime Video. However, instead of following the 90s path of this type of adaptations, it has approached more to The Last of Us or Arcane, and it has turned out to be a complete success.
Thanks to this, Prime Video has renewed Fallout for a second season. Just one week after its premiere, the platform has confirmed that we will soon have a continuation of Lucy and Maximus’ adventures in the Wasteland. An announcement that is not surprising, especially when we consider the record that the platform has just achieved.
A season full of surprises
As confirmed by the VOD service, Fallout has become one of the top three most-watched series in the history of Prime Video —and, let’s remember, it has only been on screen for just over a week—. Its first season has only been surpassed in viewership by The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. But not only that, Fallout has much better reviews than the latter, so it is clear that it has become an unprecedented success.
Beyond confirmation, the platform has announced that filming will take place in California, just like the first one. They have not revealed if the scripts are already finished, but at the time their creators announced that they were saving some of the best things from the Wasteland, so fans can be happy.

It doesn’t seem like we will see the new season of Fallout until 2026, with next year being chosen for production and filming. However, they could surprise us and have everything ready by the end of 2025. We’ll see.
