Ford is ramping up its electric vehicle (EV) offerings in the UK with a series of enticing incentives aimed at boosting sales and reclaiming market share.
The automaker has launched the “Ford Power Promise,” mirroring a successful initiative introduced in the US last October. This new program features a free Level 2 home charger, standard installation, and 24/7 live support for EV owners, alongside a robust 8-year or 100,000-mile battery warranty.
The Power Promise not only makes owning an EV more accessible but also provides buyers with financial perks.
The Power Promise: Ford’s Game-Changer for EV Owners
Customers can save significantly on energy costs by charging their vehicles overnight, with rates dropping as low as £0.07 (approximately $0.09) per kilowatt-hour through a partnership with Octopus Energy, the UK’s largest energy supplier. This translates to charging costs for the new electric Puma Gen-E at just £3.23 (around $5), a stark contrast to typical gas expenses.
Alongside the Puma Gen-E, which is the EV version of Ford’s best-selling European car, the offer extends across Ford’s entire electric lineup, including the Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning. Notably, the F-150 Lightning can save consumers up to $55 versus traditional gas models, making it an attractive option for pickup truck enthusiasts.
In addition to the home charger and energy savings, customers can also benefit from a five-year service plan, a five-year towing assistance package, and access to more than 33,000 public charging stations through Ford’s Blue Oval Charge Network. For those who already own a home charger, Ford offers a cash bonus of £500 ($650) as an alternative incentive.
With these strategic moves, Ford aims not only to enhance the EV ownership experience but also to solidify its presence in the competitive UK electric vehicle market.
