Fortnite quietly updated the Treasure Hunters event on November 7, 2026. After about a week of player backlash, Epic Games added the drop rates for the event’s rare rewards to Epic’s event page. The complaints had been piling up across social media and forums, with players arguing that Fortnite was pushing them to grind chests without telling them what the actual odds were.
The number people were waiting for was the one tied to Pirate Token, which is now labeled Pirate Shop Access. Epic says its base drop rate is 1 in 137,500 chests. The mini-season started on November 1, 2026, and those odds didn’t go public until November 7, after criticism over hidden rarity, FOMO, anti-consumer design, and even threats to report the event to the FTC started spreading.
Epic also says Treasure Hours can raise the odds on the rarest rewards. Pirate Shop Access gets a 1.5x boost, Weekly Gold Outfit jumps by 7.5x, and Weekly Vehicle & Decal gets a 10x multiplier. According to the event page, those bonuses could go higher later on.
The full drop-rate table is now live on Epic’s event page too: Weekly Gold Outfit is 1 in 1,562,500; Weekly Vehicle & Decal is 1 in 7,813; Weekly Pickaxe or Backbling is 1 in 568; Weekly Jam Track is 1 in 391; Weekly Loading Screen is 1 in 272; Gizmo is 1 in 127.
For anyone still opening chests, that update changes the picture a lot. You can finally see how thin the odds really are, even while the wider argument over loot-box transparency, $10,000 account listings, scam warnings, and player trust keeps going. The updated Fortnite odds are now posted on Epic Games’ event page.
