Frozen II was released in 2019, four years ago now, and as expected, the third installment of the most successful children’s movie of recent years is on its way. However, while Disney is preparing this major film that will once again flood theaters and platforms, we will be able to enjoy a sequel before that, which will be set between the second and third parts.
What’s happening is that this sequel won’t come as anyone expects. It won’t be a series, nor a special episode, nor a short film, but something quite different: a podcast. As announced by Collider, Disney is preparing a series of 12 podcast episodes titled “Frozen: Forces of Nature.”

A podcast for children
What will the Forces of Nature podcast be about? As revealed in the official synopsis, the plot will be as follows:
Queen Anna has a lot on her plate: there are visitors in her kingdom, a friend in need, and even the Duke of Weselton’s nephew lurking around, so when the spirits of nature start acting up, she knows she has to solve the problem, and quickly, before things get further out of control.
But when Anna and Elsa travel to the Enchanted Forest, they discover mysterious copper contraptions that are disrupting the natural order of things. Who created these contraptions and what are they doing in the forest? And most importantly, how can Anna and Elsa stop them?

We still don’t have a release date for the podcast, but we know it will be soon. In fact, it will serve as a test to see if the podcast format works well with the children’s audience. If successful, Disney will likely venture into creating many more podcasts based on their main intellectual properties.
