HoYoverse has laid out what’s coming in Genshin Impact Version 7.0, expected around August 12, 2026. The big thing here is a round of visual upgrades, and on some cheaper Android phones those changes could mean crashes, black screens, or freezing. Even so, HoYoverse’s posted minimum and recommended specs haven’t changed on PC, iOS, or most Android devices.
Anyone playing Genshin Impact on a budget Android phone should pay attention to that warning. HoYoverse directly calls out Mali-G52 MP2, Mali-G57 MP, Imagination IMG BXM, and early PowerVR GPUs, so this could hit phones built around chips such as the UNISOC T606, T612, T616, or T618, the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 or 930, or the Helio P35, G36, or G25. Those are common in Tecno, Infinix, Xiaomi, and Realme handsets.
Version 7.0 is expected around August 12, 2026, and it should bring Snezhnaya, upgraded character models, and better environmental textures. So yes, the spec sheet may look mostly the same, but the actual load on the hardware is going up. And that matters. Mobile makes up about 65% of the player base, especially in Southeast Asia, where more than 60% of phones sold in Q1 2026 were priced under $200.
If you’re on an older entry-level Android phone, now’s a good time to check what hardware you’re actually using. More so because HoYoverse is also set to end PlayStation 4 update support by August 2026.
