Gods Don’t Give Gifts, a dark, adult-skewing, R-rated animated anthology, has released its first trailer. Fable has also shifted the film’s U.S. release from October 30 to December 4, 2026, as it sets the movie up for a Best Animated Feature campaign.
The film comes from Zack London, who’s better known online as the YouTuber Gossip Goblin. It brings together four connected sci-fi shorts built around transhumanist ideas: consciousness that can be transferred, memories treated as commodities, and what becomes of human desire once the body no longer sets the limits.
Fable is also using Gods Don’t Give Gifts as a real test case. The question is whether a digitally native creator, a built-in fandom, and a generative production pipeline, still shaped by writers, voice actors, musicians, and foley artists, can make it into theaters and connect with critics and awards voters while the industry keeps fighting over cheaper production, broader access, job losses, copyright, consent, and creative control.
If you keep up with awards-season animation or creator-led releases, this is one to put on your radar, especially with lore drops planned for Discord, Instagram, and TikTok, plus a $15,000 fan-film competition meant to turn online buzz into ticket sales and mainstream recognition.
The trailer is already online, and Gods Don’t Give Gifts opens in U.S. theaters on December 4, 2026.
