Google brings Gemini to the iPad

After months of waiting, Google has finally launched a native Gemini app for iPad, delivering a true tablet-optimized experience. Gone is the stretched iPhone version—this new app fully leverages the iPad’s larger screen and multitasking power, marking a significant evolution for AI productivity on Apple devices.

A full-featured experience for productivity and creativity

The iPad version of Gemini introduces several key improvements that transform how users interact with AI on a larger display. Thanks to Split View support, Gemini can now run side-by-side with other apps, allowing users to write, code, or research without switching contexts.

The app’s new Gemini Live feature enables real-time conversations with the AI in over 45 languages, expanding access for global users. Deep Research is another highlight, designed to quickly synthesize complex information—ideal for building reports or learning on the go.

Visual users will appreciate the new Canvas feature, which offers a shared space for co-creating documents or code. Users can now also generate images and videos directly in the app using simple prompts, making it easier to develop creative content.

Lastly, the expanded Audio Overview tool now supports more than 45 languages and allows users to upload files and receive spoken summaries. This is especially useful for multitaskers or commuters looking to absorb content hands-free.

With this release, Google positions Gemini not just as a chatbot, but as a serious productivity assistant, custom-built to thrive on the iPad. It’s a major step forward in integrating generative AI into everyday creative and professional workflows.
