The Television Critics Association has announced the winners of its 42nd Annual TCA Awards for the 2025-2026 TV season, with Heated Rivalry taking Program of the Year.
With sharp writing and leads who click from scene to scene, Heated Rivalry has become one of the season’s biggest critical favorites, and the win lands alongside reports that a second season is already in development.
Apple TV+’s Widow’s Bay had the strongest night overall, picking up three awards: Outstanding New Program, Outstanding Achievement in Comedy, and Individual Achievement in Comedy for Kate O’Flynn. The show has already been renewed for season two, and creator Katie Dippold has signed an overall deal.
HBO’s The Pitt also repeated in Outstanding Achievement in Drama, winning for the second year in a row. The TCA’s 220-plus TV journalists from the U.S. and Canada also added new Animation and International Series categories, and TCA president Andy Dehnart said a field that ranged from ghost stories to sports romance to sci-fi showed just how broad and ambitious TV has become.
