On Saturday, the 17th, we were able to witness TUDUM 2023, the annual event held by Netflix where the platform showcases its latest offerings. During the show, the cast of the hugely popular series The Witcher took the stage to promote the third season of the fantasy series.
Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and Joey Batey presented a small teaser of what the upcoming season had in store for us. It was Joey Batey who broke the ice and dared to bring up “the topic”: what would finally happen with Henry Cavill and his Geralt of Rivia?
The Superman actor has been avoiding publicly discussing the fact that this would be his last season portraying the Witcher. However, Batey asked Cavill on the TUDUM stage what it was like filming his final season with The Witcher cast.

This caused a tremendous uproar among the audience, and Cavill seemed quite moved by the gesture. “Oh my God, thank you all so much. I genuinely feel the love, and I love you all too. […] It was a true pleasure and honor to work with all of you (The Witcher cast).”
Cavill also praised the work of his fellow actors: “You bring so many nuances and details to these characters that often risk being oversimplified. What you have done with them has been the result of much work, care, and effort. Believe me, working with all of you has been a great pleasure, so I just wanted to say that I’m going to miss you.”

It resulted in quite an emotional situation, with applause from the audience and even tears.
Despite the bittersweet farewell, the opportunity was also taken to reveal more details about what the third season of The Witcher would bring. Among them, we learned that Jaskier would encounter a formidable rival, Valdo Marx. We also witnessed the appearance of the monster Aeschna and Ciri in the middle of the desert. Without further ado, here is a clip from The Witcher:
