Now it’s finally happened: all the complaints, online petitions, and statements from the responsible parties have been in vain, and Tango Gameworks has closed down for good after polishing the last remaining bugs in ‘Hi-Fi Rush’ with a patch that, in reality, is an excuse to bid farewell to the audience that has supported them until the end. And yes, indeed: it’s incredibly sad and leaves a profound sense of injustice.

There is still some more news about the game before its final demise, such as the physical release by Limited Run Games, but this last patch has given them the opportunity to say goodbye on social media with a “Thanks again for your support to ‘Hi-Fi Rush’. You rock!”. It’s not that the patch has many fixes but it serves to demonstrate the studio’s attention to detail, which could have easily left them unresolved.
For example, small issues with phase transitions, text bugs, or price adjustments to reflect the actual conversion in each country have been resolved. In the end, there is relief in all this feeling of unease: the creators of ‘Hi-Fi Rush’ loved the game to the fullest, and they are surely being sought after in the industry. We just need someone other than Xbox to realize the value of making games that do not surrender to the industry’s unappealable rules. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this happens soon.
