Crunching the Numbers: Microsoft’s Calculations on the Sales Potential of Starfield and Indiana Jones on PS5

Bethesda Games expected to sell more than 10 million copies.

El videojuego de Indiana Jones vendería más de 10 millones de copias en PS5

Although the trial between the FTC and Microsoft is now in its last throes, interesting information is still coming out from the parties involved. This time, the protagonist is once again Starfield, although it is also accompanied by the Indiana Jones videogame that is currently in development. The question is simple: how much did Starfield or Indiana Jones intend to sell on PlayStation 5?

According to a document published in court, according to Tim Stuart, CFO of Microsoft Gaming, both Starfield and Indiana Jones would sell more than 10 million copies on PS5. The figure is huge and speaks for itself, as very few games are capable of surpassing this amount (as much as Nintendo has us accustomed to achieve it, since it makes the difficult easy).

In this sense, Microsoft is aware of the millions of dollars in losses that this exclusivity on consoles could cause, although they hope to alleviate the impact and “compensate the losses caused, thanks to the rise of Xbox Game Pass and increased sales of Xbox X Series | S”.

We must not forget that Indiana Jones is currently in development by the people at Machine Games, makers of the latest and very good Wolfenstein games. We have only seen a small teaser of the game, but we know well that it will be exclusive to Xbox consoles.
