I didn’t expect this to be my favorite feature of Apple Intelligence

With the arrival of the iPhone 16, Apple is preparing for the integration of artificial intelligence throughout the ecosystem. ‘Integration’ is precisely the keyword, because we are not talking about an isolated AI in an app or service, but something that extends throughout the operating system and covers practically all fronts. Thanks to this, we find what is my favorite feature of Apple Intelligence.

Notifications that actually work, finally

Every day we receive countless notifications: emails, messages, app alerts, social media updates, and much more. Although, in theory, these notifications should be helpful, in practice they often become a distraction. Reducing them is an option, but disabling them excessively is, at least in my opinion, a mistake. We want to stay informed, but in an efficient way. This is where the notification summary feature comes into play.

Instead of each notification showing us a small excerpt that rarely provides enough information, Apple Intelligence uses its natural language processing capability to generate clear and concise summaries of the notification content. It is no longer necessary to open each message or email to understand its importance. With a quick glance at the summaries, we can determine whether it is something that requires our immediate attention or can be left for later.

But the function goes beyond that. This function is not limited only to Apple applications, it works with any third-party app, and the best part is that it can summarize multiple notifications into one. Extracting the context from 10 messages, displaying the key element, and allowing us to have a highly efficient interaction.

Okay, it may not be the most eye-catching feature among those offered by Apple Intelligence in iOS 18, but for someone who receives a lot of notifications every day and wants to be informed about their content, this feature makes a huge difference.
