All we have to do is go to Settings >General > Software update.

Following the release of iOS 17 earlier this week and the arrival of the new iPhone 15 today, Apple has rolled out several software updates for all its devices. We’re mainly talking about iOS 17.0.1 and iPadOS 17.0.1, both of which come with bug fixes and security improvements.

Bug fixes and several security improvements

This new version, identified with code 21A340 for iPhone, is now available for download on compatible iPhones. For those fortunate enough to already have the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, a separate version, iOS 17.0.2 with code 21A350, has been made available.

According to Apple’s release notes, iOS 17.0.1 not only provides bug fixes but also essential security updates. In fact, several vulnerabilities that could have been exploited in versions prior to iOS 16.7 have been addressed.

In an additional effort to keep all users safe, whether they have transitioned to the new operating system or not, Apple has also released iOS 16.7. This update, in particular, addresses three significant security flaws that were apparently actively exploited.

But Apple’s updates today go beyond iOS. macOS Ventura 13.6 has also arrived, further enhancing the user experience on the Mac. This version comes almost two months after macOS Ventura 13.5 and, like its mobile counterpart, places special emphasis on bug fixes and security updates.

And there’s more. Apple has updated its iWork suite, incorporating several new features into Pages, Numbers, and Keynote on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. These apps now support 3D objects in USDZ format. In Keynote, for example, it’s possible to play embedded animations in these files or use Magic Move to animate 3D objects between slides. Other features include the ability to collaborate on documents via FaceTime, find and open suggested documents with Spotlight, and a plethora of tools aimed at enriching the user experience.
