It’s mid-October, and we find ourselves in the so-called Spooky Season. So, with just a few days left until Halloween, horror fans are already gearing up for what’s to come. From The Fall of the House of Usher to The Conference, many movies and series are arriving during this time to fill us with fear. However, one of the most anticipated horror releases of the year will come at a different time: Christmas.
“It’s A Wonderful Knife” is a horror comedy set to hit theaters on November 10, 2023, but its goal is to be a true “nightmare before Christmas.” Much more literally than Tim Burton’s movie, for sure. We leave you with the trailer, let’s see what you think.
A very Christmassy slasher
In the movie, a wonderful Christmas turns completely bleak when a killer, entirely dressed in white and with their face concealed under a mask of the same color, begins to murder an entire happy family. For a clearer understanding of the plot, here’s the synopsis:
A year after saving her town from a psychotic killer on Christmas Eve, Winnie Carruthers (Jane Widdop) finds her life far from wonderful. When she wishes she had never been born, she suddenly finds herself in a parallel universe of true nightmare. In this alternate reality, she discovers that things could be much worse without her. Now that the killer has returned, she must team up with the town misfit to identify the murderer and return to her own reality.
The concept is a blend of humor and terror, much in the style of Scream. However, it eventually turns into a highly entertaining slasher that promises a good time filled with blood and destruction. Perfect for those who can’t stand Christmas.
