In 2018, Children of Blood and Bone suddenly appeared on bookstore shelves, in the young adult section. It became an immediate success: its author, Tomi Adeyemi, took 18 months to write it, but it was worth it when she saw the public’s response. And, of course, then Hollywood came calling, a personal dream of Adeyemi’s that has turned into a nightmare.
