One of next year’s most anticipated films – it is scheduled for release on October 4, 2024 – is Joker: Folie à Deux. The sequel to Todd Phillips’ Joker movie brings back the director’s duo with Joaquin Phoenix. But it will also feature a special guest joining the cast as co-star: Lady Gaga.
The singer who dazzled at the Oscars with her performance of Hold My Hand, the original song from Top Gun: Maverick, will play Harley Quinn in this feature film. She will be the romantic interest, therefore, of Phoenix’s Joker. But it has also been revealed that it will be a musical film, so we will be able to enjoy her voice again.
What will Joker 2 be like?
Although we have not yet been able to see what she will look like as Harley Quinn, a couple of images and a video from the shooting where Lady Gaga appears have been leaked. In them we can see her dressed in winter clothes, with a big hat and jacket plus a bag and a scarf.
This is probably one of the first scenes of the film, when she has not yet become the killer we all expect. However, from what little we know, she will keep the original role from the comics; that is, she will be a psychiatrist who falls in love with the Joker’s personality. Therefore, we will surely see her in different phases during the film.
The film will be part of the Elseworlds label, which will integrate all the films of the new DC Studios of James Gunn and Peter Safran that are not within their formal universe. Alongside it will be, therefore, the sequel to The Batman and other alternative films that are being prepared.
