Netflix has become a repository for all the superhero movies that are released in theaters. Beyond those that are exclusive to Disney Plus and Max, when one of these movies arrives on streaming platforms, it usually ends up on Netflix. This is what is happening with Sony’s superhero universe, and specifically with its latest release: Madame Web.
Released on February 14th, to celebrate a slightly different Valentine’s Day, the film arrived with a terrible reception from critics and at the box office, as well as with a story that was compared more to Morbius than to any other similar film. But is it still worth watching now that it’s on Netflix? We try to solve the doubt for you.
Yes, we miss Spider-Man
Although it is a completely forgettable movie and it doesn’t seem like it will even become a cult classic, the truth is that if you like the Spider-Man universe, it is quite interesting. Madame Web delves deep into the mythology of magical spiders and several other things that it pulls out of its sleeve but that seem quite interesting. Undoubtedly, with a better script and with Spider-Man himself, things would have improved… but for that, we already have the universe of Into the Spider-Verse.
