After this long journey, EA Sports has just announced that the two iconic commentators are retiring from their football delivery. Yes, a farewell has come that seemed like it would never happen.
In total, Manolo Lama has recorded over 848 hours spread across a total of 453 recording days, with 278,448 lines of dialogue recorded. Do you know how many player names he has registered? A total of 7,400 players and 7,000 different goals. On the other hand, Paco González has recorded over 424 hours of football since the early days, with 191 recording days across all editions and 69,362 lines of dialogue recorded.
It is worth noting that since FIFA 13, both commentators have been accompanied by the voice of Antonio Ruiz. The journalist is also leaving the FIFA commentary (now EA Sports FC) a decade later.
And now who?
The million-dollar question is who will be the next commentators for EA Sports FC. Electronic Arts has stated that they will ensure to continue their legacy in the best possible way, but no one has been confirmed yet. However, they won’t take long to provide an answer, as the football game is just a couple of months away from hitting the shelves.
Rumors suggest that we might see two of the most famous voices in current football, such as Miguel Ángel Román and José Sanchís. Additionally, there are also suggestions from social media that well-known streamers like Ibai Llanos or DjMariio could be a possibility.
