The official Resident Evil account on X just posted a new image connected to the 2026 Resident Evil movie, and it’s stirred up the ending all over again, especially when it comes to Bryan.
The image looks like an in-universe Umbrella Corporation scan of a mutated skull, tagged “BRN-0065_H”. That label has fans arguing that Bryan, the ordinary medical courier at the center of the new survival-horror story, was recovered after the cure failed, after the final mutation, and after his implied death at the hands of the National Guard, even though the movie never actually shows Bryan dying on screen.
And that opens up a few ugly possibilities. Bryan could come back as a horribly altered victim, or as a full bioweapon. It also pulls the movie’s smaller, more contained story back into Resident Evil’s bigger web of experiments and cover-ups. On top of that, it keeps the argument going over what Bryan’s Birkin-like mutation actually means: the G-virus, the T-virus that director Zach Cregger mentioned, or maybe even some blood-relative connection to the games. If you’re into Resident Evil lore, this one’s worth a look.
You can check out the image now on the official Resident Evil X account. What you still won’t find is any official explanation for Bryan’s fate, the monster’s identity, which virus is actually involved, or whether there’s a sequel on the way.
