Very few games can boast of sweeping sales like Hogwarts Legacy can. The title, developed by Avalanche Studios, became the best-selling game of 2023, a success that Warner Bros. would like to repeat once again. And it seems that there are new rumors pointing to a Hogwarts Legacy Director’s Cut on the way.
The news comes from Bloomberg and specifically, Jason Shreier. The popular videogame journalist has published an extensive article detailing everything that went wrong with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Avalanche Studios’ latest major failure. In the conclusion of his piece, the journalist mentions how Warner Bros. is supposedly working on a “director’s cut” version of Hogwarts Legacy.
Shreier defines it as a “new version” of the game we already know, something that will surely delight fans of the magical universe created by J.K. Rowling. This would also explain the lack of content all this time, something seemingly strange, especially considering its enormous critical and public success. For now, we must sit and wait for official confirmation, but perhaps we can learn more during the Summer Game Fest.
The latest update for the game is a free update, which includes a Photo Mode, cosmetic items like the circular lenses and the Onyx Hippogriff mount, as well as the new Lavender Borealis broomstick.
In Hogwarts Legacy, we are set about 100 years before all the events that take place in the Harry Potter saga. Here we take control of a fifth-year student at Hogwarts, the famous school of magic and wizardry. In the game, we’ll be able to explore some iconic places, including Hogsmeade and the Forbidden Forest, among others.
