Dreamworks hasn’t been the same since they put aside the Shrek movies. Although they’ve carried out equally interesting productions after the latest installment of the green ogre saga, the film studio’s biggest fans can’t help but longing to know more about their adventures. But don’t worry, the wait is about to end.
As announced some time ago, Shrek 5 is on its way, and now we know when it’ll be released. In a recent interview, the voice actor for Donkey, Eddie Murphy, confirmed that the movie will arrive in 2025. “We started working on Shrek 5 a few months ago,” he specifically said, and according to the plans Dreamworks revealed, we will see it very soon.
A Donkey’s movie is on the way
But Shrek is not the only one who will have a new movie. Shortly after confirming that they’re already working on this new film, Murphy made it clear that there will be more: “I recorded the first act and we will continue making it this year, and we will finish it. Shrek 5 will be released, and Donkey will have his own movie. We are also going to make Donkey, so we are making a Shrek movie and a Donkey movie”. Any clearer? Impossible. Donkey will finally have the place he deserves.
