Skype is preparing a feature to transcribe voice notes
Skype, the well-known communication application that is part of Microsoft, has shown in its Preview version a new feature within the program that will allow users to enjoy a tool that transcribes voice notes to discover their content without having to listen to them. It has not yet reached the official version, but if the feature performs as expected, it would not take long to land in the final version of the service.
It is common to see a voice note among your pending messages, and not know when you will be able to listen to it, since, often, voice notes require a suitable environment and a favorable moment to be able to give it the attention it deserves. But with this feature, many users will have ample facilities to communicate easily.
Sype Preview, as shown by Neowin, has released in a new build the mentioned transcription feature, which allows users to enjoy the content of a voice note without listening to it, as this function converts the message content into text.
This is a very interesting feature because of the flexibility it offers to users. Many times, in an inappropriate context and place, listening to a voice note can be impossible, while reading a transcribed text can be much easier. Therefore, this improvement will be a relief in the quality of life for those people who frequently use Skype and often receive voice notes that they cannot listen to at the moment, but that they could respond to if they are written as text.
A function with many followers
This is not an exclusive novelty from Skype, as there are several current services that allow the installation of transcription systems so that voice notes can be converted to text. This is the case of services like Telegram or Discord, which allow the installation of various bots in groups that are capable of performing all kinds of functions, one of them being voice note transcription.
Skype is currently one of Microsoft’s major communication applications, although over time they have tried to give it a more informal approach to maximize professionalism in their other platform, Microsoft Teams, which is more focused on professional environments.
