Star Wars: Galactic Racer hits PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 6, 2026. Fuse Games says it’s aiming for a tougher kind of arcade racer, built around raw speed, heavy wrecks, and consequences that actually stick.
That idea runs through the whole game. Fuse is making Galactic Racer the kind of racer where a mistake costs you, either by killing your momentum or ending the run outright, not the kind that lets you rewind and pretend it never happened.
It also leans into old-school handling, contact racing, takedowns, and a run-based campaign with roguelite progression, at least going by what Fuse has said. You push through a string of races, then crash out or lose and start over with only part of your progress carried across attempts.
You can feel Burnout and the older Need for Speed games in it, which makes sense. Fuse Games was founded by former senior Criterion developers Matt Webster and Kieran Crimmins, and the early previews have mostly zeroed in on the same things: the sense of speed, the wrecks, and a loop that makes you want another run. Accessibility and difficulty balance still need a broader look, though.
If you’ve missed chaotic racers where crashes have weight, Star Wars: Galactic Racer looks like one to keep an eye on.
In Galactic Racer, you play as Shade and race through the post-Empire Outer Rim in a fully voiced story, according to Fuse Games. There are landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders, and even some podracing in arcade mode, along with PvP multiplayer and standalone arcade events.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer will be available to download on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at launch.
