Things are not going as they would like for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Apart from the avalanche of criticism it received during its release, Rocksteady‘s title has not managed to generate more interest beyond that. This is demonstrated by the latest registered concurrent player data, which barely reaches a hundred.
Rocksteady and Warner conceived Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as a game as a service, intended to operate based on the continuous (financial) support of its players over time. However, reality has ended up being very different.
Through Windows Central we have learned that Suicide Squad has reached its all-time low peak of concurrent players on Steam. Specifically, the number has been 102 players. Although this figure does not include console users, it gives us clues about the health of the game.
If we compare it to another similar title, like Marvel’s Avengers, we will see that the number of players between both is very similar. However, it is important to note that the latter was released in August 2020 and has not received support since 2023. Given this, it does not bode well for Suicide Squad.
And the fact is that the game has not been able to meet the expectations that were placed on it. Despite this, Rocksteady did not want to give up, at least not immediately. With the intention of revitalizing the title, Suicide Squad presented its first season in March along with Joker, added as a new playable character.
It has been of little use. Miller Ross, a well-known leaker within the world of superheroes, published a rumor in early April stating that the main plot of Suicide Squad would conclude in its fifth season. This would happen in 2025, one year after its release.
