EA has officially announced the highly anticipated battle royale mode for Battlefield 6, which will be released this week in Battlefield Labs. Titled “Battle Royale, Battlefield Style,” this mode aims to merge the core pillars of the series, such as squad-based gameplay, tactical destruction, and vehicle combat, within the battle royale genre.
Battle royale for everyone in all games
In this new mode, up to 100 players will be organized into 25 squads of four. With a map specifically designed for these matches, players will find a variety of tactical Points of Interest, each with unique designs and themes that offer diverse gameplay opportunities. Additionally, there will be common transport vehicles deployed across the map to facilitate exploration, especially in the early stages of the game.
One of the most innovative aspects of this battle royale is its damaging ring, which instantly kills players who come into contact with it. Unlike other modes in the genre, this ring is a constant threat that forces players to stay alert and strategic throughout each match. EA emphasizes that “there is no way to use the ring as cover or to enter and exit it.”
Squads will be able to choose from different classes, which will be locked during the match. Each class will have unique abilities that can be upgraded as the game progresses. EA will oversee the choice of classes and abilities to maintain balance in the gaming experience, based on player feedback.
Users who can’t wait to enjoy this experience can keep an eye out for the first videos and previews that will circulate on the internet before the official launch of the mode. With this new addition, Battlefield 6 promises to offer a fresh and dynamic approach to the already popular battle royale genre.
