In May, Behaviour Interactive announced that it was preparing a spin-off of Dead By Daylight initially titled Project T. It was a collaborative game for four people in a PvE experience where they would have to defeat a new class of enemies using, as usual, talismans, weapons, and more. Fans were already rejoicing at this new expansion of a universe that has continuously provided terrifying DLCs over the past few years, but suddenly, they decided to cancel the project. But why?
It turns out that the studio, in order to gain feedback from the public, made a program available so that they could play the current version, which was not yet finished and was a bit primitive, to be able to fix the errors in time. The problem is that those who have tried it have ended up very, very unsatisfied.
As explained on Twitter, “After the game tests in July, we conducted an internal risk assessment from a commercial and product perspective. Although a number of players expressed appreciation for what they had played, unfortunately, the result of this thorough analysis has been mostly unsatisfactory“. In other words, it’s better to cut now than when the game is already finished.
So, “with a heavy heart” they have announced the cancellation of Project T and have thanked the fans for their support. The Dead By Daylight saga, however, continues: at the beginning of the month, The Casting of Frank Stone was released, a more cinematic spin-off that also failed to win over the audience. However, there is still a movie in the works. Evil never stops lurking.
If you’re a player of the new school, you may remember Lara Croft simply as that character who died over and over again in her video game in the most cruel and absurd ways possible. But the fact is, she has been an icon since 1996, when the first ‘Tomb Raider’ appeared for Sega Saturn, MS-DOS, and PlayStation. Now, with many adventures behind her, the time has come… to die again in grotesque ways, this time in a unique crossover.
While we wait for the new game featuring the most famous archaeologist in video games (she hasn’t had a completely new one since 2018), we’ll have to settle for an appearance of her in the cruelest online horror game on the market. In July, ‘Dead by Daylight’ will feature the Tomb Raider, though it’s quite different from the genre she’s used to. In the past, characters like Chucky, Michael Myers, or Ghostface entered the game, but there’s also a place for Lara. Why not?
In the current season, ‘Dead by Daylight’ has borrowed a lot from ‘Dungeons & Dragons’; now Lara Croft joins this mix, a character whose abilities, according to the game’s developers (Behaviour Interactive), make her the ideal person to fight for survival. So, if there was controversy in the past due to the dozens of deaths in ‘Tomb Raider’, imagine what it’ll be like now. Let the “Tomb” stuff begin.
‘Fortnite’ and ‘Call of Duty’ have had all kinds of characters wandering around their games, and now it’s the turn of ‘Dead by Daylight’ to see someone they once rejected for being too comical
We live in an era where any video game can set up a crossover for next to nothing. And it doesn’t matter how absurd it is: if, for example, mixing Lego and ‘Rock Band’ was once seen as crazy, now it would be just another ordinary game. ‘Fortnite‘ and ‘Call of Duty‘ have had all sorts of characters wandering through their games, and now it’s ‘Dead by Daylight’s’ turn to see someone they rejected in the past for being too comical.
If in different updates killers like Michael Myers, Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, Ghostface, or the Demogorgon from ‘Stranger Things‘ have already arrived, now it’s time for ‘Chucky’. And he will appear despite the fact that in 2019 the game’s director said he was “too far from the genre to use it because it’s too funny.” Just watch the first part of the saga. You split in two, but literally.
Of course, they also said they would never include the xenomorph from ‘Alien’, and there it is. For fun, you can even play as Nicolas Cage, Nemesis, a Cenobite, Ash (from ‘Evil Dead’, not ‘Pokémon‘), and Laurie Strode, the survivor from ‘Halloween’. Chucky comes to set a new milestone in horror movies brought into the video game, and he will do it with an exclusive skin.
Of course, there’s Tiffany, his girlfriend turned killer doll that we saw from ‘Bride of Chucky,’ when the saga itself realized it couldn’t keep up the seriousness for much longer. By the way, if you thought the killer doll saga was dead, you might be interested to know that after seven movies and a reboot, we already have three seasons of ‘Chucky,’ all at a very high level. Now, with a built-in video game. May the slashing never stop.
The collaboration between Stranger Things and Dead by Daylight has been reignited. Following its 2021 exit, the Hawkins National Laboratory map was notably removed and has not been in play since. Those players who had invested in all three characters were able to keep them, and now, following a groundswell of fan requests, the show is set to make its anticipated return to the game.
Coinciding with the celebrations of Stranger Things Day, the series also expanded its crossover with Fortnite by rolling out a new Eleven skin among other items. The gaming community had been abuzz with speculation about the return of Stranger Things to DBD, fuelled by leaked information from dvveet, a notable figure in the game’s community, who teased the presence of the Hawkins map within the game’s disabled code.
The buzz among DBD and Stranger Things enthusiasts escalated, reaching a crescendo until the long-awaited revelation was made, with the timing being nothing short of impeccable.
Behaviour Interactive has made the official announcement that Stranger Things is making a comeback to Dead by Daylight. The iconic characters Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington, along with the formidable Demogorgon, are set to re-enter the spine-chilling world of the game. This return also heralds the revival of the Hawkins National Laboratory, complete with the various skins and outfits associated with these characters.
An additional thrill for fans is the reintroduction of the Jonathan Byers alternate model as a Legendary Outfit for Steve Harrington. True to the original setup, the unique perk names and icons for all three characters are being restored, though they will continue to function as general perks for the moment. This move has been met with considerable joy from the community, fulfilling the longstanding hopes of the series’ ardent followers.
Stranger Things DBD perks
In Dead by Daylight, each Stranger Things character will once again boast their distinctive Perks, reverting to their original, character-specific names. Although these Perks had been temporarily categorized as General Perks available to all, they are slated to return to their status as unique identifiers for the Stranger Things characters, adding a layer of exclusive flavor to their gameplay.
It’s a momentous occasion that certainly calls for fanfare, yet it’s worth mentioning that the Achievements/Trophies tied to Stranger Things won’t be reactivated just yet. Players should stay tuned for any future updates on this front.
The Dead by Daylight team is ready to usher players back into the haunting embrace of The Upside Down and encourages curiosity and dialogue through the game’s forums or on social media channels. Brace for a renewed plunge into the eerie and unpredictable domain of Stranger Things within Dead by Daylight, where the line between surviving and succumbing is razor-thin.
With the original release, each Stranger Things character came with three unique Perks, which were transitioned into General Perks post the Chapter’s discontinuation. Now, they are set to reclaim their former exclusivity. After an upcoming update, these Perks will once again be solely tied to their respective characters.
For players who advanced their characters while these Perks were universally accessible, their progression will remain intact. However, the subsequent unlocking of additional Perk Tiers will be on hold until players either acquire the Character Perk from the Shrine of Secrets or advance the Stranger Things characters to Prestige levels 1, 2, and 3.
The chilling atmosphere intensifies with Halloween upon us, and in this eerie ambiance, DBD Chapter 30 prepares to make its mark. Beyond the month known for hauntings and howls, Dead By Daylight ensures that the thrills persist for all horror enthusiasts.
While everyone was eyeing November 1st for the next public test build, Behaviour Interactive has now unveiled the official release date for the DBD Chapter 30 PTB.
Dead By Daylight never misses a chance to immerse its fans in the macabre, and its ongoing tribute to Halloween, the Haunted By Daylight event, is no exception.
This annual dark carnival not only offers exclusive shirts for both killers and survivors but also introduces limited-time modes and coveted Hallowed skins. Dive deep into the Void and amass Void energy, ensuring you seize every cosmetic reward before they vanish into the night.
The Haunted By Daylight festivity always offers its share of surprises, but the buzz and suspense enveloping the new killer in Dead By Daylight Chapter 30 are unparalleled.
About DBD Chapter 30 and new killer
Behaviour Interactive has shed light on the much-anticipated DBD Chapter 30 PTB. While whispers suggested a November 1st release, the official game Twitter handle clarified that “the PTB will not be making its debut this week.”
I can confirm the next PTB is not going live this week!
Trusted leaker, dvveet, hints that the delay in the public test build is the reason behind the absence of teasers for the new killer. Dvveet also mentions that hotfix 7.3.3 is slated for a release this week, preceding the PTB, suggesting that we might witness the public test build around November 8th.
There will be one more hotfix patch before PTB for 7.4.0 (Chapter 30)
So this last one will be Hotfix 7.3.3. Probably will be pushed to live servers tomorrow or the next day.
When it comes to Chapter 30, the information we possess confirms its November launch. Adding to the lore, Behaviour Interactive’s year 8 roadmap indicates it’s a paragraph featuring an enigmatic licensed killer. To draw a comparison, the previous paragraph chapter graced us last July, introducing Nicolas Cage as a survivor.
Speculations about the identity of the licensed killer are rife. A faction of fans believes it could be the iconic Predator, while others are rooting for an animatronic from Five Nights At Freddy’s. As we await the revelation, hopes are high that this licensed antagonist matches the intense curiosity and excitement it has generated.
Looking beyond the anticipated launch of Chapter 30, the horizon holds another thrill — the introduction of the Dead By Daylight single-player version, crafted by the acclaimed Until Dawn developer, Supermassive Games.
