Hearthstone has an advantage over other card games in that it has a very solid thematic base. It has the WarCraft franchise behind it. Just with that, they have years to explore different corners of its lore and never run out, but it also gives them enough space to do things that go beyond the norms of fantasy. For example, venturing beyond the confines of its own planet.
That is what The Great Dark Beyond, the new Hearthstone expansion, presents to us. With a space theme, as its name suggests, this new collection will arrive with 145 new cards, a new type of minion card, and a new keyword that promises to add even more depth to the game.
In addition to the legendary card of the Nexus Prince Saffar, the new type of minion card we will have is Draenei. Meanwhile, the new keyword will be Starship. This clearly indicates that all of this is about space, traveling beyond the stars, and everything contained within them. Being the universe of WarCraft, and given the name of the expansion itself, we fear that it won’t all be epic battles between space warlords and there will indeed be some cosmic horror somewhere.
If you’re interested in delving into the depths of Azeroth’s space, Blizzard has you covered. With two bundles available for purchase right now, one priced at $49.99 and the other at $79.99, if you acquire them, you can start with a good collection of cards that will make it difficult for any game to resist you. Or at least, there won’t be any deck you want to build and can’t.
The Great Dark Beyond will be released on November 5th. Hearthstone is available on Android on Google Play and on iOS on the App Store.
