Street Fighter VI and the price of its costumes is everything that’s wrong with video games

Do you like your ‘Street Fighter’ characters to go into fights dressed to the nines? Go change their outfit when they need it most? Spend the money to have the handsome one uploaded?

Do you like having your ‘Street Fighter’ characters go to fights dressed to the nines? Changing their outfits when they need it most? Spending money to make them look sharp? Luckily or unluckily, Capcom has thought of you by releasing a third DLC of outfits for ‘Street Fighter VI.’ So far, all normal. The problem is how they’ve approached selling these in a despicable way within the gaming world (increasingly common).

Let’s pickpocket because there’s no money for fighting

18 new outfits, each priced at 300 in-game coins. Do the math: if you want them all, you’ll need to fork out 5400 in-game coins, or roughly 100 euros. And it’s not made easy—they don’t sell packs of 300 coins; it’s only available in 250, 610, 1250, and 2750. What does that mean? If you want just one outfit, you’ll have to pay double its cost. And if you buy two, you’ll still have 10 coins left over. It doesn’t make sense.

If you’re not much of a gamer, you might be shocked at the outfit prices, but that’s not what gamers are complaining about. These prices more or less fall within the current range. Remember when outfits were unlocked by playing a lot? That’s not the case anymore. Now it’s all about the wallet… And it’s very, very profitable for the studios.

Obviously, having these outfits only offers an aesthetic upgrade. It’s not like suddenly Chun Li will have missiles or something similar. They’re novelties, simple ways to pamper your favorite fighters and stand out in online matches. At least they’re not like those Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costumes released in August that cost a total of 60 euros. For four costumes. Are you also missing the ‘Street Fighter II’ era when you had everything in one cartridge?

A New Level of Skill: Experience Chun-Li’s Spectacular Performance in Competitive Street Fighter

It was the seventh match of 96 in the tournament organized by the Corner2Corner Twitch channel and nobody believes what they are seeing on the screen. As if it were Andersen’s tale, Chun-Li is completely naked.

Even if you are a boor, one very important thing in life is to know how to conceal it. Let no one notice that beneath that layer of professionalism and good manners lies a person who writes “hola” without an “h” and has a morally questionable website as their homepage. That was the case with Packz, a player of ‘Street Fighter 6’, who, for posterity, has been perceived as someone with certain tendencies, well, in that way. Spoiler: it’s not true.

Alternative dresses

Three, two, one… Let the fight begin! On one side, player Lensta’s Kimberly (surprisingly fast). On the other, Packz_’s Chun-Li. It was the seventh match out of 96 in the tournament organized by the Twitch channel Corner2Corner, and nobody can believe what they’re seeing on the screen. As if it were an Andersen’s tale, Chun-Li is completely naked.

The commentators don’t know what to say beyond “What an interesting outfit” when the equation is solved: Packz was playing with a mod that allowed him to strip his favorite fighter. Absolutely nothing sick, of course not. The player, far from being penalized, continued to fight, now with a properly dressed Chun-Li.

It was of little use: the player bit the dust after two consecutive KOs, and Lensta advanced to the second round, where he was soundly defeated by someone named Xuses, who, in turn, was beaten in the next round. A series of failures that began with the biggest of all. Fortunately, Twitch has not suspended the Corner2Corner channel, but it wouldn’t be the first time they do something similar for similar foolishness.

Days later, the Twitch channel clarified what happened on Twitter: “Some stories have incorrectly blamed one of the players, but that is NOT the case. It was our host’s computer and their responsibility.” In fact, they asked not to blame the player, but to blame themselves, ensuring that the mod was removed, and it wouldn’t happen again. Packz did nothing wrong.

Street Fighter 6 exciting launch revealed

It’s time to take to the streets in the next Capcom fighting sensation. We haven’t seen an SF title for consoles since 2016, but it seems like Street Fighter 6 is currently in development. From the images we’ve seen, it looks like there’s a massive graphics upgrade.

Capcom recently held the Capcom Pro Tour 2021 Finals exhibition series. It’s an esports tournament where gamers face off in the Street Fighter V: Champion Edition game. The third day of the event ended yesterday, but the game publisher had something exciting to share.

It revealed the official trailer for Street Fighter 6, with Ryu and Luke taking the spotlight. There are some closeups of the characters, showing how realistic they look. However, we’re unsure if the actual gameplay will look this good or if Capcom will stick to the cartoonish, animated version.

In Street Fighter V, Capcom made a fuss about Luke becoming the future of the franchise. With him taking on Ryu in the trailer, it seems we can expect more from this character. The seasoned Ryu now sports a beard as a reference to his veteran experience in the arena. We’ve loved Ryu from the start, so we doubt that Luke will quickly take his place.

There’s no indication of which platform the new Street Fighter 6 will launch, as the trailer doesn’t show much in this regard. We’re used to PC and PlayStation editions, but there’s a good chance we may see it on Xbox and Nintendo Switch this time around. We’ll let you know as soon as we have more news.
