A group of modders has announced an exciting project titled Bully Online, which will allow fans to relive the iconic game Bully by Rockstar in a multiplayer format. The intention is to release this mod for free in 2026, which has generated a flood of interest among fans of the saga. The leader of the mod, SWEGTA, has made it clear that the project adheres to legal standards, requiring a legitimate copy of the original game and not redistributing its files, but only modifying the original executable.
You can’t do it alone, but you can with friends
SWEGTA used his social media to communicate that the mod should not face legal complications with Rockstar Games, a company known for its actions against modders. “What really matters to us is to offer fans a fun way to re-experience the game through online mode,” explained the modder. He has also left the door open for any contact from Rockstar or its parent company, Take-Two, in case any issues arise.
Despite the team’s confidence, some fans have expressed concerns about the paid early access and the possible repercussions this could have on the relationship with Rockstar. These concerns are understandable, given the company’s history regarding legal actions against projects of this kind.
Additionally, the announcement from Bully Online has reignited speculation about a possible official sequel to Bully. Rumors have circulated for some time, especially since Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar, mentioned that the sequel never materialized due to capacity issues at the studio. This recent excitement surrounding the mod could suggest that an official sequel would not be met with disdain, given the evident appetite of players for these types of experiences.
Rockstar Games, as a company, is a behemoth. With over 2,000 employees and more than 26 years of history, it’s impossible not to have sweet memories playing some of their games. Some of them, not being any installment of GTA. That is why GTA VI is so highly anticipated: they have consistently delivered high-quality games that have revolutionized, in one way or another, the medium of video games. That’s why GTA VI is so highly anticipated: they have consistently delivered high-quality games that have revolutionized, in one way or another, the medium of video games. But that doesn’t mean the wait is going to be any shorter.
So much so that rumors keep emerging that Rockstar could give us the remaster of one of its games before the release of GTA VI. Although people don’t seem to agree on where the clues point or what they want. That’s why we are going to provide you with a list of six games that could be remastered and could be an immediate and resounding success. Although at least one of them has some clues suggesting it could be more true than you imagine.
GTA 6 is the new installment of the action-adventure sandbox in an open world by Rockstar Games. Wrapped in expectation and mystery, the sixth Grand Theft Auto marks the return of this legendary franchise 10 years after GTA 5 was released. Although little has been confirmed about the gameplay or the release date of this new GTA, everything seems to indicate that we are facing what will be the most expensive game in history. Still, with each passing day, new rumors and juicy leaks are coming to delight the entire gaming community. Would you like to know more? This is everything we know about GTA VI to date.
Bully
Published in 2006, this action adventure is basically the GTA of going to school. We are a kid who is accused of crimes he may or may not have committed and is sent to a boarding school where he will have to rise through the ranks of the different social groups that fill the place, such as the nerds, the bullies, or the athletes. Basically GTA, but without killing anyone and without committing any kind of crime that could land us in jail, it is one of the most unique and interesting games from Rockstar for how it manages to offer a different perspective on what they are known for. One of those games that, if you have never played it, you should go play right now.
Manhunt
Rockstar Games during the PlayStation 2 decided to experiment with stealth games in their own way. This resulted in one of the most unique and misunderstood games of its generation: Manhunt. Even today, it is still not very well understood what it intended. Absolutely brilliant in how it blended its mechanics and narrative in a tremendously hostile game for the player, it is a masterpiece that did not suffer with its second installment. A marvel that is doubtful would be better received today than at the time, but it deserves all the honors.
Los Guerreros
Walter Hill’s film is a cult classic and not without good reason. It is an excellent movie, based on an absolutely fascinating novel by Sol Yurick, which has a very video game-like premise: a gang must travel from one end of New York to the other while all the gangs in the city want to kill them. And Rockstar shows that, indeed, it lends itself to a video game almost as good as the movie in one of the cult classics of the second PlayStation. One that fans are already asking to be remastered.
Midnight Club: Los Angeles
Although it may seem that driving games are no longer as popular among the general public, that doesn’t mean they can’t make a comeback. Especially if the indicated franchises return. One of those franchises is Midnight Club, which reached its peak with Midnight Club: Los Angeles, a fantastic open-world driving game with day and night cycles, licensed vehicles, and realistic traffic. The dream of any GTA fan who wants more realism in their games and could very well bring it back.
Oni
Probably the most unique game on the list, although it’s a bit of a cheat: Rockstar published the game, but it was developed by Bungie. Heavily inspired by Ghost in the Shell and Akira, it is a fascinating third-person shooter with a strong anime aesthetic that, even more today than at the time, could be a hit with the audience. By making its aesthetic cel shading and looking like a real anime, we would have everything we need.
GTA 4
This is the game that everyone is pointing to as potentially getting a remaster. And we’re not surprised. GTA 4 is one of the most beloved GTAs and there are plenty of reasons for that. Niko Bellic is a protagonist with whom it is easy to empathize, his story is probably the best ever told in a GTA, and the supporting cast and mechanics have yet to be surpassed by Rockstar. A remake would be absolutely incredible news, especially if it includes its two DLCs: The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Because if they do, we would be talking about the remaster of one of the best games of its generation. And perhaps the best game in Rockstar’s history, which GTA 6 will have to measure up to.

A cult movie and a video game
With the release date of Grand Theft Auto VI set for May 26, 2026, some fans have begun to express their interest in a remastered version of The Warriors, as it could make the wait for Rockstar’s next big title more bearable. In the current context, an update of this game could capture the attention of both nostalgic players and a new generation of gamers.
It is worth remembering that, in its original experience, the game allowed players to take on the role of young gang members who must escape the law after being accused of murder. This journey was filled with battles against rivals and various side missions that helped enrich the experience. Although a sequel set in London during the 1960s was proposed, the project was canceled.
With the success of remastered versions of other classics and Rockstar’s sales track record, the possibility of a new release of The Warriors seems plausible, offering fans a chance to relive this historical piece of interactive entertainment.

The iconic game Bully, developed by Rockstar Games, takes players into the intricate dynamics of a boarding school, where the protagonist, Jimmy Hopkins, faces a hostile environment filled with spoiled kids and bullies. Although the title has never received an official sequel, its legacy has remained alive thanks to subtle references in other games from the company, such as GTA IV.
A hidden wink deep within the game
In GTA IV, the essence of Bullworth Academy can be captured through the fictional television program I’m Rich, broadcast by CNT in Liberty City. This reality show parodies the lives of the wealthiest individuals, and among its protagonists is Jill Von Crastenburg, who comes from one of the richest families in the world. Jill’s representation serves as a mirror of privileged culture, showcasing behaviors that include a lack of tolerance for frustration and mental health issues, such as an eating disorder. These references fuel the satirical critique present in both works, addressing issues such as bullying and the excesses of contemporary elites.
The connection of Bully with the GTA universe becomes more explicit through the brief mention of Bullworth Academy during the promotion of Jill’s episode in I’m Rich. This moment allows fans to connect the dots and recognize Bully as a canonical part of the Grand Theft Auto world. However, expectations for a return to the youthful narrative that characterized Bully are minimal. According to various sources, it does not seem that Rockstar is considering the possibility of a new installment in this universe, leaving players with nostalgia for the original title while they continue to wait for the company’s future proposals.
Bully 2 could be a reality, if we pay attention to the GTA 5 database, although we fear that it is a reality that was in the past
Although we’re all waiting for GTA 6, there’s life beyond GTA. The good folks at Rockstar Games have taken care of other highly popular franchises that we shouldn’t overlook either. And we’re not just talking about Red Dead Redemption. Because, even though we sometimes seem to forget, they have one cult game that, unfortunately for its many fans, has gone more unnoticed in recent years. We’re not talking about any other game but the legendary Bully.
Now, there are indications that Bully 2 might have been a reality at some point. This discovery stems from a person who found several references to the game within the code of GTA 5.
To explain this, it’s crucial to understand that video game databases often contain unused information—abandoned concepts, bits of code from other projects, and various types of data. Recently, a file from the GTA 5 database was leaked, and a Twitter user named @billsyliamgta found a line of code referencing GTA 4, Midnight Club Los Angeles, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Bully 2.
GTAV’s PDB leak contains a string relating to Bully 2.
This confirms that, at the very least, work has been done on the game at some point. As @billsyliamgta himself points out, the file contains content that was discarded and later repurposed for GTA Online, such as the use of jetpacks.
We know that initially, Rockstar’s co-founder Dan Houser wrote a script for a Bully sequel back in 2008. Additionally, during 2019, there was development on the game, but after 18 months, it was canceled. While this sequel was never officially announced, this seems to confirm that indeed, at least at one time, Bully 2 did exist.
