Arc Raiders, the new extraction shooter developed by Embark Studios, is generating a lot of excitement in the gaming community, especially due to its distinctive approach and its potential to introduce vehicles in the future.
During the 2026 Game Developers Conference, Caio Braga, the game’s production director, revealed that, although vehicles are currently not in active development, the possibility of including them is not completely ruled out. According to Braga, the team has prototypes of old vehicles that have not been used but could be reconsidered later on.
Prototypes for seven years
Arc Raiders aims to stand out in a genre where vehicles have fallen out of favor. Lhe idea of incorporating vehicles could give the game a new dimension, something that would resonate well with the motto that all shooters are better with vehicles.
If implemented, vehicles could offer interesting dynamics, such as a quad bike that allows players to navigate quickly through the map, although at the cost of generating significant noise that attracts enemies.
Additionally, Embark Studios has ambitious plans for ongoing support for Arc Raiders for at least 10 years. Braga emphasized that development is open to new features that fit the game’s lore, leaving the door open to numerous possibilities. This indicates a long-term commitment that could allow the game to constantly evolve and adapt to the needs of the community.
At a time when multiplayer shooters tend to focus on ground combat, the inclusion of vehicles could make a differencefor Arc Raiders, turning it into a more appealing title for players seeking innovative experiences in the realm of video games.
