Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced that the housing system will be available in the next World of Warcraft expansion, titled Midnight. This new system is presented as a response to the criticisms surrounding the limitations of the housing system in Final Fantasy XIV, aiming to provide more democratic and accessible access for all players.

In a recent blog post, Blizzard highlighted that the intention behind this system is to ensure that “if you want a house, you can have one”. This involves eliminating exorbitant requirements, high acquisition costs, and the dreaded possibility of losing the house if the subscription is suspended. The housing in Midnight will be divided into two zones, one for the Alliance and another for the Horde, each with approximately 50 plots available per neighborhood, thus encouraging interaction among players.
The developers have indicated that players will be able to choose between public or private neighborhoods, allowing fans to create shared spaces to interact and enjoy group rewards. This approach aims to direct the housing system towards the needs of the players, rather than turning it into a source of income, although some decorations have been mentioned that will be available in the virtual store.
Although Blizzard has revealed some details, the company has promised more information about the housing system and other features of the Midnight expansion over the course of the next year. This announcement has generated considerable anticipation among the gaming community, who hope that this new feature will enrich the gaming experience in World of Warcraft.
