Vodafone has presented its new backup service, called ‘Always On’, designed to ensure connectivity in critical situations, such as power outages or network failures. This innovative system will function as an eSIM, activating only when the user’s main line fails, thus ensuring the continuity of communications in times of instability.
Vodafone has ensured that you will never be disconnected again
The inspiration behind this initiative arose after the blackout that impacted Spain on April 18, leaving it without electrical network service and affecting communications. This event highlighted the need for robust backup solutions, which led Vodafone to develop ‘Always On’ in response to the growing demands in the business sector.
Primarily aimed at business clients, remote workers, and emergency teams, the service offers continuous and reliable connectivity without the need to be tied to a specific operator. This means that users do not need to have their main line with Vodafone to benefit from this service; it can act as a complement to any other provider.
The service’s pricing model has been leaked by the media outlet elEconomista, which indicates a setup fee of 5 euros and a monthly maintenance cost of 1 euro. To access the connection and make calls, users will need to choose between two plans: the Always On 12 GB Plan, which costs 12 euros per month and includes 12GB of data and 100 minutes of national calls, or the Unlimited Always On Plan, which, for 20 euros per month, offers unlimited data and 500 minutes of national calls.
With ‘Always On’, Vodafone aims not only to enhance the experience of its business customers, but also to attract new users, highlighting the resilience of its network as a key selling point.
