Kelley Mack, known for her portrayal of Addy in the popular zombie series The Walking Dead, passed away on August 2 at the age of 33 due to a brain tumor. Her role in the ninth season, although brief, left a significant mark on the storyline, as Addy was kidnapped by the Whisperers, a dramatic twist that impacted the show’s fans.

Born on July 10, 1992, in Cincinnati, Mack began her artistic career at a young age, participating in commercials and school plays. Over the last decade, she moved to Los Angeles, where she began to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. In addition to her role in The Walking Dead, Mack has appeared in series such as 9-1-1, Chicago, and Schooled, as well as in feature films like Broadcast Signal Intrusion and Mr. Manhattan.
Beyond her role as an actress, Kelley also ventured into production and direction. Recently, she served as executive producer on a project yet to be released, written and produced by Stephen Portland, where she also acts. In 2015, she wrote, directed, and edited the short film Positive, and the previous year she was the director of photography for The Kingdom.
After her passing, her sister Kathryn used Kelley’s Instagram account to share an emotional message. “With deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Kelley”, she wrote, highlighting her light and her love. Accompanied by her mother and her aunt in her final moments, the family emphasizes that her spirit lives on in those who knew her, symbolized by the arrival of butterflies in their lives.
