The upcoming March 28 marks the anniversary of the iconic Kingdom Hearts saga, and fans have a reason to celebrate thanks to the community. The group Ecos del Doblaje has released a mod that offers a complete Spanish dubbing of Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, the latest title in the franchise.
This initiative stands out not only for the voluntary effort of the fans but also for the significant lack of official Spanish dubbing since Kingdom Hearts 2, released in 2005.
A heartfelt effort
The Ecos del Doblaje mod is not just a superficial enhancement; it includes translations of Disney songs into Spanish, fully dubbed voices in Castilian, dubbed cinematics, and adapted textures.
Additionally, for those who do not wish to install the mod, the group has published a complete version of the game’s movie on their YouTube channel, providing an accessible alternative to experience this in the local language.
The plot of Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory is narrated by Kairi and serves as a summary of the saga, introducing an unprecedented final chapter that is anticipated as a connection to the awaited Kingdom Hearts 4. This community approach reflects a great love and dedication towards the series, allowing fans to relive the experience of the saga in their native language.
Ecos del Doblaje is not new in this field, as it previously released a dubbing mod for Kingdom Hearts Final Mix in August 2025. There is also currently a mod for Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories in development, suggesting that the community’s efforts to provide Spanish versions of these titles will continue. In an environment where Square Enix’s management has faced criticism, the fans’ initiative stands out as a beacon of hope for the series in the Spanish-speaking community.
