These are all the announcements that the latest Nintendo Direct for Switch has left us

Today has been what points to being the last Nintendo Direct for the original Nintendo Switch. Today has been what seems to be the last Nintendo Direct for the original Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch 2 will still have to wait a week to receive its first, and its successor refuses to die. Which doesn’t surprise us. With over 150 million units sold, it would be foolish for Nintendo to let it go. That’s why they have announced many interesting games for their console. And we are going to tell you everything that has been announced and why you should pay attention.

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D

Probably the announcement that everyone was waiting for and that has finally arrived. After the excellent Dragon Quest III HD-2D they have announced that the next two installments of this trilogy will arrive this year to close the story. We knew they existed, we knew they would follow the same aesthetic, but we didn’t know when they would be released. And although we will still have to wait for a specific date, at least we know one thing: they will be released in 2025 and for Switch.

No Sleep for Kaname Date: AI Somnium Files

Kaname Date returns in a new detective adventure that will lead him to rescue an Internet idol. Diving into the psyche of suspects and involved individuals alike, this is the third part of AI Somnium Files, an excellent series of graphic adventure/visual novels that have taken the detective story fans by storm. And not without reason, as they feature tremendously charismatic characters, fascinating mechanics, and stories filled with unexpected twists. Something that seems to continue here.

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army

After the success of the Persona franchise, it is no surprise that Atlus is bringing back its old spinoffs from Shin Megami Tensei. In this case, it is Raidou Kuzunoha, who in this remaster of The Mystery of the Soulless Army invites us to fight fire with fire by embodying a demon hunter from the early 20th century who battles these vile creatures by recruiting other demons willing to help him. An excellent game, previously locked to the PlayStation 2, that you shouldn’t miss if you enjoy Shin Megami Tensei or Persona.

Shadow Labyrinth

This peculiar reimagining of Pac-Man, now in the form of a metroidvania where we have to escape from a dying planet, we already knew about, but until now we didn’t have a release date. Now we know it comes out on July 18 and we can’t wait to see what else this peculiar thing has to offer.

Patapon 1+2 REPLAY

Perhaps there are no more unique rhythm games than Patapon. And now we can replay them in this remaster that, in addition to allowing us to play on a big screen, will also include numerous quality of life improvements, specially designed for those who have already played it. A perfect opportunity to replay them on July 11, but also to discover a franchise unjustly forgotten by Sony. Although not by its creators.

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar

Remake of the Nintendo DS game, Story of Seasons is the good Harvest Moon. That means this is one of those titles you should keep in mind if you like farming games. And that you shouldn’t let it pass under your radar.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

The previous trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond did not leave us very satisfied. It had too much action and didn’t seem very Metroid Prime, which was disappointing. Now, this trailer does give us exactly what we want: a Metroid Prime like the first three, but with a completely different touch. One of the great games from the Direct that we hope to sample very soon, but it only has a generic 2025 release date.

Witchbrook

If you like Stardew Valley, but have always thought it would be even better if instead of a farm you had to live in a wizard school like Hogwarts, then Witchbrook is for you. With cooperative play for up to four people, it has the potential to be one of the big releases of this year. And you won’t need to switch to Nintendo Switch 2 to enjoy it.

The Eternal Life of Goldman

With excellent animation reminiscent of classic Disney’s Fantasia, The Eternal Life of Goldman is a beautiful game that has caught attention precisely for that. The care put into its art. And what about gameplay? It seems to be a very appealing old-school platformer that will deserve attention.

Gradius Origins

Gradius is one of the great franchises of the shoot ’em up genre, and now we can enjoy it again on our Switch, with an excellent collection of classic games, as well as a new installment. But to enjoy them, we will have to wait until next August 7.

Rift of the Necrodancer

Although it has gone somewhat unnoticed, Rift of the Necrodancer is one of the best games of 2025. It is an excellent rhythm game that you should have already played on PC and, if you haven’t, you can now enjoy it on Switch. When? Today! And don’t miss it, because truly: it is one of the best games that have been released this year.

Tamagotchi Plaza

One of those games that may not be very flashy, but surprisingly works well among a certain audience. And it seems that this Tamagotchi Plaza wants to take the place left by Animal Crossing on June 27 with all its sweetness.

Pokémon Legends Z-A

Pokémon Legends Z-A is one of the most anticipated games from Nintendo, and although we were expecting a release date, it seems we will have to wait a bit longer. With a generic late 2025 timeframe, we have been given a bit more information. We now know that battles against trainers will be based on a tournament called Z-A Games, which is defined by trainer ranks starting from Z and must be ascended to A. This is something we are eager to learn more about.

Rhythm Paradise: Groove

Rythm Paradise is among the best rhythm games in history, and we haven’t had a new one since its last release on 3DS. But that will change soon. In 2026, with no specific date yet, Rythm Paradise: Groove will be released, a new installment of this excellent series of rhythm games that are as simple as they are charming that we only hope will once again feature a hilariously uncoordinated choir of children.

SaGa Frontier Remastered 2

The SaGa franchise was the great forgotten one by Square Enix for years, but it seems that it is now one of their favorite children after the success of its remasters, remakes, and new installments. That’s why it doesn’t surprise us that they bring SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered, a classic perhaps less remembered than its predecessor, but equally exceptional and that you shouldn’t miss if you are a fan of JRPGs. And it is available today.

Monument Valley 1, 2 and 3

Monument Valley is among the best mobile games of all time and is now coming to Nintendo Switch. Or it will very soon. Because the first two will be released on April 15, while we will have to wait until an indefinite date next summer to enjoy Monument Valley III. A perfect opportunity to enjoy some unique games.

Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots

The most fun golf game saga in the world is back, now for Nintendo Switch. Although it has historically been a Sony franchise, it now comes from Bandai Namco, but it seems to still have the same craziness and fun as always, so give this historic franchise a chance when it releases on Switch next summer.

Marvel: Cosmic Invasions

Dotemu has specialized in making pixel art beat’em’ups and the license they have chosen for their next game couldn’t please us more. Marvel Cosmic Invasion puts superheroes from the Marvel universe to stop a cosmic invasion in the only way they know: by throwing punches. Moreover, with so many X-Men appearing, we can’t say no to this game.

Tomadachi Life: A Dream Life

To conclude, a bombshell that may not seem like one to many. Tomodachi Life is a hit in Japan and also a hit in the West, even though it is not one of the big well-known names from Nintendo. And this Tomodachi Life: A Dream Life is one of the noblest ways to end the life of such a popular console as the Nintendo Switch: appealing to the general public with a game designed for them. And for that reason, Nintendo, you have sold over 150 million consoles.
