Nightdive Studios has surprised video game fans by announcing the development of SiN Reloaded, a new version of the iconic shooter released in 1998. This remake will arrive on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch in 2026, demonstrating that the company remains committed to revitalizing classics from the world of video games.
A classic that went unnoticed
The new SiN Reloaded promises to maintain the essence of the original game while updating its presentation. Players will be able to enjoy enhanced graphics, with support for resolutions of up to 4K and 144 FPS. In addition, new 2D screens and modernized controls will be included, as well as the option to switch between the remastered version and the classic 1998 version. Players will take on the role of Colonel John R. Blade in his mission to stop Dr. Elexis Sinclaire and her army of mutant creatures.
The title will also offer interaction and narrative branching, features that were innovative for its time. One of the most interesting additions will be the Wages of SiN mission pack, where Blade will face a mafia boss and his army, further expanding the original story.
Beyond SiN Reloaded, Nightdive Studios is developing a free expansion called Death Wish for Blood: Refreshed Supply. This expansion, which will be available in March, will introduce 48 new levels and a new storyline set years after the base game, featuring Tchernobog as the new antagonist.
These initiatives reflect Nightdive Studios’ approach to not only preserve but also innovate in classic experiences, keeping nostalgia alive among players and attracting new audiences. With the rise of remakes and remasters in the industry, SiN Reloaded and the Blood expansion are well positioned to capture the attention of both veterans and newcomers to the genre.
