If you are old enough to have played the first PlayStation, you probably remember Driver. This title born from the hand of Reflections Interactive proposed us to live exciting adventures by having to survive spectacular car chases inspired by 70s heist movies long before the arrival of GTA3. That is, if you were able to get through its demanding tutorial, something that many were not able to do.
In an effort to revive the franchise, Ubisoft announced in September 2021 that the Australian platform Binge would be adapting the game into a television series. After years without any new information about it, a representative from Ubisoft has told journalist Stephen Totilo that this television series based on Driver has been canceled.
While it is true that this same representative has promised that Ubisoft is actively working on other projects related to the franchise, the last game published was Driver: San Francisco for PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, and PC in 2011. Therefore, although the return of Driver may be on the horizon, after the cancellation of its series, we remain skeptical until we see some kind of official announcement regarding it.
